The Holidays come around and so do all the parties and family gatherings. You've spent all the money on gifts for other people, but you can't forget about the most important...yourself! Make a statement without overdoing the sparkles with a multi chain necklace that can spice up your holiday look. And for the gift that keeps on giving, a leather mini that can be used year after year and as multiple outfits.

The Whole Package Navy Strapless Dress, $92 Lulu's

I'm going for a winter wonderland look this holiday season and whether the party is fancy or dance-y, I just want to sparkle! This flirty little dress from Lulu's really is the whole package: it's got glitter, it's got sequins, it's got a pretty bow to make you feel like a present! To complete the ensemble, I paired it with navy, glitter heels and a silver, iridescent eye shadow. Party guests are gonna need their ski goggles on when I walk in!

Endless Amusement

For this week’s Friday Favorites we pay homage to one of my favorite quotes about fashion. Working as a fashion director and stylist, I’ve come to enjoy all the hues that designers use when creating a collection. However I’m always overjoyed when a designer embraces bold colors. So this week we share our Cerulean Blue favorites.

From the beloved, Devil Wears Prada:

Miranda Priestly: Something funny?
Andy Sachs: No, no, nothing. Y'know, it's just that both those belts look exactly the same to me. Y'know, I'm still learning about all this stuff.
Miranda Priestly: This... 'stuff'? Oh... ok. I see, you think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select out, oh I don't know, that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis, it's actually cerulean. You're also blindly unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves St Laurent, wasn't it, who showed cerulean military jackets? And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. Then it filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic "casual corner" where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and so it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you're wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room. From a pile of "stuff."

This collarless blouse is the perfect opportunity to show off a statement necklace.

Classic Q Trifold Wallet, $200 ShopBop
This cerulean Marc Jacobs wallet would go perfect with my bright aqua purse. It's no secret that blue is my favorite color, but not just any old boring sky blue. I love shocking, fun, insane pop of color blue! Be sure you have your sunglasses on when I come around with my eye-popping blues.

Scotch Naturals in Seaboard, $23 SG Nails
I had to go with this nail polish because with this, you can incorporate cerulean into every look! It was tough to narrow down my favorite pick this week, because cerulean is one of my favorite colors! It's splashed all over my wardrobe and jewelry. A bonus, Scotch Naturals uses an eco-friendly, water-based formula without any of those harmful chemicals most nail polishes have. I give it two cerulean-painted thumbs up!

Ton-Sur-Ton Beaded Bib, $30 Anthropologie
This Anthropologie necklace has such a cool ombre of cerulean that drew me to it. When it comes to jewelry, I love statement pieces. I have a slight obsession with buying necklaces in bright pops of color. I love that it can add the perfect pop to any ensemble.

We love this look for workwear. Unless you work in a corporate setting where skirt suits and hosiery are still required, most work attire has become far more creative. Many in my industry haven't bought a full matching suit in countless years. Instead, it's the art of mixing separates. This look works multiple ways in your wardrobe and easily transitions from 9-5 to cocktails. The skirt, while fitted, isn't mini so there's no concern you're showing off the goods if you bend down. The blouse is a classic staple for your closet while the blazer will work with a skirt, pants or even jeans on weekends. And what better way to create your own style identity than with accessories. The bib necklace and gold toe cap heels are statement makers. The necklace would help make a simple strapless black dress stand out and the cap toe heel poking out from under long hemmed pants in any color from red, burgundy, teal to hunter.
