So here are our picks for our regular column, Friday Favorites. From super soft, velvet jeans to shimmering knits and chunky sweaters to a little luck to wear on our wrists.

Being a New Yorker I could almost set my clock to the day it turned cold enough for a coat. It always seemed to be on the eve of Halloween. That meant the cool costume you wanted everyone to see was suddenly covered up with a coat. Living in Los Angeles, my wardrobe of coats hangs in the closet lonely most of the time unless I'm grabbing my shearling for NYC or Toronto or pulling on a leather jacket for those moments between the car and event. But I can't help but want to peek at all the coat styles offered this season and perhaps add or two more lightweight styles to closet. A girl likes to have options.

Friday Favorites - October 12

With yesterday's rain, many of us turned our thoughts to stylish outerwear. I adore Christina's choice of the coat from Zara with the quilted leather sleeves. For me, my thoughts still linger on the oversized braided bracelet I snagged from a fellow stylist last week who happens to also design them.

I recently wore this stylish twisted bracelet on Good Morning America after I "borrowed" it right off the designer's wrist. I had to have it! The Braided Watchband Cuffs are one-of-a-kind and made from vintage watchbands, secured with plated wire. All pieces are handmade with vintage and antique pieces repurposed in new ways. Designer,  Liz Teich takes familiar pieces that otherwise would have gone to waste and turns them into fresh, eye-catching designs.

Chains Embellished Army Coat, Rowme, $89

This baby's got me locked up in chains! I feel like the prettiest girl at band practice with this coat. It's got a slim, flattering cut and shoulder pads to boot. Plus it makes a statement with all those buttons and chains. Now that jacket-weather is upon us, these chains of love got a hold on me!

The much needed rainy weather has finally arrived in Los Angeles, and it got me thinking about a coat to stay dry. This coat is on my winter wish list because of those tendy leather sleeves! I'm also a fan of coats with collars that flip up and wrap around your neck as a scarf. It's the perfect jacket to stay warm and stylish this winter.

Ok, these look like pajama pants - the pattern, the slouchy, loose leg and soft feel and they're just about as comfortable.

Resin Bird Earrings, Fenwick $145

What drew me to these tweety bird earrings was the earth tones, which go so well with just about anything. And the picture reminds me of a nature scene one might hang in a shadow box in their living room, only instead I'd hang them from my ears and take them everywhere! The woody bird pattern gives it depth and makes them very unique. Plus, despite the birds and flowers, they're not too springy!

Usually, I don't like the smell of most perfumes, so it's super hard to find one I love!! This past week I received a sample of Prada candy with my recent Sephora order and it's amazing! It has a delightful, sweet smell, but not like 16 year old sweet...more like sugar for grown-ups sweet. Maybe the hubby will buy me a full size version for my birthday?
